Hear Me Now: The Soft Pack

The first time I saw the Soft Pack, they weren’t even called that.
It was CMJ 2008, and The Muslims had just upstaged every other band playing at the Brooklyn dive Don Pedro’s.
A lot has happened since then: A name change, a label signing, a spot on our list of band crushes, and finally, a full-length.
The San Diego foursome’s self-titled album comes out today and, yeah, it’s worth the wait.
The mile-a-minute ’70s punk sound is still there, but instead of feedback and fuzz, it’s remarkably crisp and clean. (Although I’ll admit that the album cover drives me crazy.)
For proof, check out “Answer to Yourself” or “More or Less” — and then try to stop playing them. xxRebecca

It’s a good thing that those B***erds changed their name how could they dare using the word “Muslim” for their crapy fucking band.

They rock — liked them before they were The Soft Pack too..Thought their first band name was lame, and this new one isn’t much better. Seriously, they couldn’t get any more creative?? Their music is good though, makes up for a lot.

they are amazing
1) they hail from lovely san diego
2) they rock
3) they are good looking
4) they should have kept their original name: the muslims
5) they placed a fantastic, but short set at amoeba berkeley

Im a newbie here, although i have been watching on the sidelines for a little while.
Im a part time librarian, love baking and my wesie Daisy. I also am way too excited about Christmas for words!!

I wish you never stop! This is among the best blogs Ive ever read. Youve got some mad skill below, guy.
