Go Go Gadget Gatsby!
My friend Annie’s in a play.
Produced by the ART Theater in Cambridge, MA, it’s called Gatz and it’s basically this:
Reading the entire Great Gatsby, from beginning to end, in the theater, while people act out all the parts, insert song and dance, and generally take the pages into the direction of wild, zany, fun performance art.
It takes, like, eight hours.
If you’ve got the energy to sit through it, get there.
If you’re like, “Are you kidding me? Eight hours of tenth grade English repeats?” then we highly recommend the ’70s movie version, which starred Mia Farrow.

I LOVE the ART! They’ve also got a ballin’ performance of Macbeth going on in an old school in Brookline, MA. The audience all have to wear white masks and wander around to see the play. There’s also a live eel in a bathtub, apparently. I haven’t been yet but it sounds completely awesome. Gatz is also on my list.

The Andrei Serban production of “Taming of the Shrew” they did when I was sixteen CHANGED MY LIFE. Seriously.
