If you are of short and average height, this is not exactly desirable as you want to look taller rather than shorter. For this exact reason, many celebrities wear their roman or gladiator sandals with short outfits. Instead of wearing a long dress, a short outfit can help compensate for the loss in height caused by the horizontally inclined straps.
