Free To VV: The Beast Is On The Move
NYLON’s newest guest blogger, VV Brown, takes a break from the road to update us on her stage outfits and fan encounters.
The tour bus–I call it “the beast”–is on the move.
Two days in and we have settled in nicely to our music spaceship. We went grocery and bedding shopping for our tour coffins.
“Tour coffins?” you ask.
This is what I like to call them, because I’m so big and they are so small, and I consistently bump my head when I wake up in them and I physically feel trapped when I sleep in them. They quite frankly are the size of a coffin–and I’m 5 feet 11 inches.

[My tourmates] Little Dragon are awesome, and the first few shows in Charlotte, North Carolina and Charlottesville, Virginia were unbelievable. Great turn out and good energy. I’m making friends for life here, which is the beautiful part of music and travel.

A pleasant surprise, which nearly made me cry tears of happiness, was a gift from a fan. He had carefully crafted a collection of metal sculptures with a book of chemistry on how each sculpture was made. Amazing! He left trails of metal hearts all over the front of the tour bus. How sweet!

Amazing times! Sitting in Washington, D.C. Sunny day and getting ready for our sound check for our next show!

What do you think of my outfit last night?
Lots of love, VV x
