(Editor’s Note: Though we recently vowed to take a vacation from posting anything concerning cupcakes, the following NY Times story seemed worthy of a breach.)

McDonald’s is now launching NYC themed cupcakes throughout Germany.

According to McDonald’s marketing masterminds in Germany, Soho’s essence is Vanilla, while a cappuccino-flavored cupcake is definitely more representative of the East Village.

If this seems extremely random/nonsensical to you, we doubt the so-called “New Yorkers” accompanying each dessert will ease your confusion.

On another note, is anyone in Germany? We’d love some taste-testing feedback!

p.s.  Apparently the word “cupcake” is hyphenated in Germany (cup-cake). Who knew?

    Hey guys,
    I’m from germany and i tasted the chocolate and strawberry cupcake
    I like them! their nothing special but they taste good.
