Good Idea or Bad Idea: TOMS for Topshop
I’m in the market for a new pair of TOMS.
I’ve worn my current pair (monochromatic red canvas) into a state of complete distress. Even though my toes now peak out the front, I refuse to throw them out until I find the perfect substitute.
So I was thrilled when hearing about the label’s latest collaboration with Topshop, eager to see what two of my preferred came up with. However, after checking ‘em out, I feel pretty unsure.
Sure the crochet patterns are cute, but why must they come in only black and white (we predict the white ones will get dirty fast)? Also, they’re $80 a pair, which is about $30 more than my classic pair. All in all, Toms for Topshop seems to me like a case of fixing before broken.
Whadda you think? (p.s. No matter the style, they’re shoes for charity, so show some support!)

Unconventional, overpriced and unflattering. I’ll stick to my sailor striped, comfily casual TOMS, thank you

bad iDea. come on brett – you can’t really play this humanitarian game and then partner with a company that exploits cheap labor around the world. so after a child makes these shoes for topshop – at a rate of $.50 a day- and some tourist or Olivia Palermo wanders in and throws down the ridiculous price- you then give that child a pair of regular Tom’s? maybe the cycles a wee bit backwards…

I WAS SUPER EXCITED FOR THESE! They’re already sold out and I have no way of contacting Topshop to ask if they will ever restock
Do you think your store still has it and you could possibly send them to me and I paypal you?
