How to Help the Oil Spill
If you’re like us, you’re desperate to help the animals and people effected by the BP Oil Spill.
But aside from boycotting BP gas stations (which NYLON TV’s Jay points out hurts individual franchise owners more than the company), you may feel kind of hopeless.
Our friends at GOOD Magazine suggest sending scientists a water sample from a beach or marsh near you.
MSNBC has a list of proactive things to do, from where to make donations to how to report hurt or injured wildlife.
And TakePart.com has a list of charities working directly with the effected areas and animals.
(One thing you shouldn’t do – fly down to the gulf, show up on a beach, and start scrubbing birds. Besides growing the nation’s carbon footprint, you may actually be hurting the animals and yourself – hired volunteers have to go through Haz Mat and veterinary training before they’re even allowed near the water).
Of course, the stuff you’re doing every day – recycling, eating locally grown produce and meat, and trying hard to buy vintage or organic clothes instead of factory-made ones – helps too.

Actually franchise and independently owned BP locations have to pay BP to “fly” the BP flag at their locations. Along with purchasing their fuel from BP. So franchise and independently owned establishments that have BP fuel do have other choices of who they buy their fuel from. I personally will not be purchasing fuel from any location that chooses to sell BP fuel.
As BP still profits from those locations.

In response to Cherie….Actually alot of franchise owners do not own the land or the building so even if there gas station was once a mobile etc, if there land owner / oil dealer decides to turn his building into BP the renter/acting owner must run the buisnes sunder BP name example: APEC owns hundreds of gas stations and dictates to it’s dealers whom rent the properties which franchise they will be opperating under. So no they do not ALWAYS get the choice.

I am heart broken about the millions of innocent creatures being affected and the fact that this oil is still gushing, but I really want to encourage people not to boycott BP. They are the ones responsible and if they go bankrupt because of this, who will then pay the bill. My first and foremost concern is that this disaster is handled and that the damage is minimized. At the moment, BP are the ones we need to foot the bill. I think we can all do our part to reduce our use of petroleum products, gas and oil. I think that working together is the only way.

I have been blogging since 2007. For years I made a few bucks here and there with Adsense and some affiliate sells, but I wasn’t making enough to quit the day job for sure. I tried getting traffic from Adwords, SEO, Yahoo, article marketing, social sites, and even email. The problem was that I just couldn’t get enough traffic to really make anything. Then I found out about a new way to buy traffic for so freaking cheap that it was nuts. If you’re sick and tired of only getting a handful of visitors to your blog, check this site out. You will go from a few dozen visitors a day to thousands for pocket change —> Cheap Traffic Secret

Is Gulf seafood fit to eat? After looking at the wildlife pictures, I wouldn’t eat it. And, of course, Obama couldn’t be bothered to take his vacation in the Gulf….not fancy enough.

It’s so sad to see the suffering of innocent animals for the greed of a stupid oil company. It breaks my heart.

The Bp disaster really makes me sad. All of those poor animals that were not atfault for this at all. They are the ones that have to deal with it.

I wonder when they will come to their senses and stop with all the oil. Alternate know-how has already been there to replace it!

It is invariably good to stumble upon someone who for sure knows what they’re talking about on the net. You doubtless know how to deliver an contention to light and make it important. More people should to read this and get the idea of this side of the story. I can not believe you are not more in because you definitely have the talent.

I’ve been making my living on my computer since 2003. I remember the first website I made, and when I made my first pennies. lol I was happy!!! I’ve recently found a new way to get tons of people to my sites for almost free. I use these cheap visitors to sell Amazon goods to and am cashing really well with it. Read about it here if you want to at $$$. It helped me go from $100 a day on a few sites to a net of $300++ pretty quick.

A little off-topic but I saw yet more evidence reported in the media today that statins are dangerous – glad I gave them up when I did. Makes me worry what else is being fed to us that’s quietly killing us…

I heard recently that the cap they used to stop up the leak is leaking and a huge amount of oil is still being released into the ocean. very bad news for all of mankind.
