Today, CNN bestows a diagnosis -
On Darth Vader.
Their medical team paired with the Journal of Psychiatry Research to give Anakin Skywalker – the father of both Luke and Leia, the captain of the Death Star, and the general all-around meanie – a psych disorder.
According to their experts, Darth suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder – the same illness pinned on Susannah Kaysen, the author of Girl, Interrupted.
The doctors involved hope “Darth Vader may thus be used to educate the public about borderline personality disorder and help combat stigma associated with mental illness.”
But anyone actually suffering from BPD – or any other emotional condition – probably doesn’t want to be compared to the dude on the losing end of a Light Saber.
