First Look: Acne Shades
Though the memories from our own high school dances include disheveled boys sporting variations of the button-down-and-jeans look, ACNE’s creative director Jonny Johannson seems to have had a different experience altogether.
Using inspiration from childhood discos in his native Sweden, Johannson is teaming up with French eyewear designer Thierry Lasry (whose styles have been worn by the likes of Anne Hathaway and Alicia Keys) to create an eyewear line that compliments the brand’s Menswear Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
“Everyone would make such an effort in Sweden to style themselves up – and sunglasses were always the most important disco accessory,” Johannson says.
The line is based on the concept of Future Vintage, mixing the classic styles of the past with avant-garde, electronic rock touches from the future.
The unique, handmade frames will be sure to get you noticed: we like the oversized, electric blue wayfarers with ultra-reflective lenses. Or maybe the black boxy ones that look an awful lot like those old-school 3D glasses made of cardboard.
We wonder which ones Kanye will rock.

What is the big fuss about products made from Italy? For starters, most of the designers in this part of the world set the trend in the fashion industry.
