BYE BYE RECORD STORES?
Word has it that CDs are dying out.
Don’t get us wrong, we love record stores.
But between iTunes, Amazon, and streaming live music from the internet, we think it’s safe to say that the CD industry is on its last leg.
Thinking back, we can’t even remember the last CD we bought (it was probably back around the Destiny’s Child era, though).
…can you?

i think it`s sad! record stores used to be really cool places to spend time, and browse around covers, and talk about music (specially cool small stores), even meet people…
i buy a lot of vinyl now, but still some cd`s aswell, the last one i got… the stones` exile on main street remastered anniversay edition

I still buy CD’s sometimes. First of all, it’s higher quality, second of all, there’s something nice and tactile about it, like reading a physical magazine rather than reading it online. Basically I buy cd’s for the same reason that I subscribe to nylon. It’s just cooler.

I love buying CDs personally. I think the last CD I bought was Against Me!’s album White Crosses. Digital distribution leaves a big empty feeling for me. I love having something I can actually touch.

I like cds. I like openeing up a new cd and holding it and flipping through the lyrics book and checking out the pictures so please do not completely kill off the compact disc.

I buy CDs and vinyl. I think it’ll take quite a while for CDs to die out completely, if they do at all. People have been saying that for, like, 5 years now. Record stores are most def. dead. But with amazon, best buy, target, etc, it doesn’t really matter, does it?

The last cd I bought was from a local band, The Great Waltz (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/river-city-hard-core/id372309087). I also bought the new Tokyo Police Club: Champ.

I really wish I could be completely old school and buy only CDs. I think the whole record store thing is super nostalgic and cool and I haven’t even been inside one in YEARS… Which is sad. But I have to say I am thoroughly addicted to iTunes and the like.

CDs aren’t allowed to die off, in my opinion. Also, in my opinion, American music sucks so I order a lot from Amazon UK because iTunes doesn’t have what I want. So…What would happen if CDs die out? I think I might die.

Thanks very much for this fantastic blog; this is the kind of post that keeps me going through the day. I’ve been searching around for your blog after I heard about them from a close friend and was thrilled when I was able to find it after searching for some time. Being an avid blogger, I’m pleased to see others taking initiative and contributing to the community. I just wanted to comment to show my appreciation for your work as it’s very encouraging, and many bloggers do not get the credit they deserve. I’m sure I’ll be back and will send some of my friends.
