good idea or bad idea: the neckerchief
Inception is a mind-warping ride of a movie, and we can’t stop thinking about it.
And, strangely, one question lingers longer than them all….
what’s with all of Ellen Page’s character’s neckerchiefs?
She wears them in almost every scene of the movie in basically every color.
We get that her character is supposed to be a brainy architecture student, but who knew that neckerchiefs and corduroy pants were a wardrobe requirement?
Although Page’s character stuck with the basic cotton style, other brands are getting in on the action as well (Forever21 offers a fringed take, and Topshop has their own glittery version).
Is this some random new trend we’re missing out on?

it didn’t bother me one bit, i thought her style was very refreshing especially since the last time i saw her on the big screen was whip it/juno and she was much grungier then.

BAD idea! :/

I noticed the pattern, but I actually really liked it. It’s a cute little alternative to necklaces, I guess.

It was strange because it seemed like she wore the same outfit in different colors for the first half of the movie – just interchangeable neckerchiefs. If this had popped up one or two times, it would have been adorable. The way it was done was strange, however…

I didn’t even notice them. Which just goes to say that it’s not a bad idea at all. I think it’s fine as long as you’re also wearing a jacket.

I don’t know, during a film like this, I really find that massively unimportant. Whether the character’s outfits were fashionable or not was the last thing on my mind, tbh. This is not Gossip Girl.

This reminds me of walking around the Mission district of San Francisco. The neckerchief has become a “hipster” staple. All Ellen needs is some cuffed jeans and self constructed bike and she’s good to go!

I think is perfect for super thin bodies like hers, that’s a way to add some volume. She wore diferent layers on upper part of body. I think could be a light alternative to scarf- I wear a scarf almost every day, some days its too hot.

She’s a beauty. The one who was well dressed the whole film was joseph gordon-levitt. He’s one classy bastard in this amazing film.

Yikes! I asked myself that same question as I was dozing in and out of the midnight showing (Yes, I’ll need to see it again) Very cute accessory, but in reality, it can’t be a part of EVERY outfit.

I think its a good look, but only if you can pull it off. I also saw the movie and it did not bother me that she wore it. I think its cute and I hope to see it more in the future.

She must have spent some time in Portland… we have been wearing bandanas for years now and cords for that matter. I own bandana’s in atleast 5 colors. Most of them I’ve been wearing for 3 years or longer. Nothing new. although yikes on sparkles and designs! No thanks!

Yeah, I actually thought it was pretty cute. I have to admit, after I saw the movie, I went out and bought a couple. They’re obviously not for everyday use but once in a while I think it would be okay.

How is this new? People have been wearing their Urban Outfitters tea rag scarves like that since 2007. Even gangsters.

it’s nothing new. how is it bad idea? it looked cute with Ellen Page. because not many people can pull this look, doesn’t mean it’s bad idea.

It’s not just the character, practically every rare candid shot I’ve seen of Ellen Page features her wearing a neckerchief. I always thought it was pretty cute on her – she doesn’t quite wear it like some other ‘hipster’ mentions above, it’s more of a traditional bandanna, right?

Di Caprios overall performance will be the very best. In case you liked him in Shutter Island, he puts up an additional superb overall performance as a tortured soul right here. Within the stop, the movie tries to close with meaning, which it does, but its at the cost of tolerance.
