lipstick jungle

Who could forget the electric blue lips that Ke$ha sported a few weeks ago?
(You’ve got to hand it to her for painstakingly matching the color to her Baby G, however).
Now take a look at the brand-new Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign, featuring Scarlett Johansson.
Besides the fact that the we barely recognize the actress in the photo, the ad begs a bigger question:
crazy lipstick colors are obviously a huge trend for summer and fall…but would you ever wear these extreme shades?

Ke$ha’s blue lips remind me of a heart attack patient I once treated. It makes me want to give her oxegyn really fast.

I tried some of the Lime Crime colours at Space NK, but they were just a bit tooooo bright for me!

I don’t mind them when they’re in matte, but you always have to choose according to your skin tone. Cool undertones for pale skin, warm undertones for more tanned skin.

I probably wouldn’t sport it, but if I could, I would. If I knew it would look good and I wouldn’t look like a “freak” at school. Hot pink is one thing, but blue is another. I love Scarlett’s ad, she looks fabulous!

I actually have worn a dark red/purple, almost a maroon in the fall for a while now. it works nicely for those of us with olive skin. i do a white shadow, light blush, heavy mascara and then the maroon and it looks great!

Yes, I totally would! I’m a big fan of lime crime (is that no she didn’t?) and have their my beautiful rocket, and regularly sport it as well as black, and, more recently, black and white zebra lips (so fun!). Can’t wait to get my hands on LC’s no she didn’t and d’lilac!
