Dani’s Pre-Fall Shopping Spree
So I’m cleaning out my desk – Fall is around the corner, it’s my version of Spring Cleaning (go figure).
Fortunate me, I have accrued a bunch of gift certificates from the holidays. With fashion week around the corner I thought it would be a perfect time to put them to use.
First I went to Ralph Lauren, where I picked up a flannel – something everyone should have for Fall. I chose a green and peach RRL. I don’t like to buy things that fit small, but I noticed a flannel could go a bit boxy – and then you just look large. I want to wear it over a striped LnA tee and PRPS skinny jeans – it’s a fitted, really cute look for Fall.
Next up, I went to French Connection, and bought a shirt we just shot for NYLON! It’s splatter paint and says “FREAK” on it. Then I bought a white dress with a cap sleeve, what could be chicer? Contrary to popular opinion, I feel that “winter white” is the new black – I don’t believe in these Labor Day rules, and I assure you I will be rocking white for Fashion Week.
Next up was A/X Armani Exchange, where I did some serious damage. Thinking ahead for Sundance, I bought a black puffer. Then I took a cue from our senior fashion editor, Michelle Renau, and bought a black sheath dress with gold rope embroidery down the front. I also bought a sweatshirt blazer and a nautical striped top, which is a trend that’s carrying over from summer to fall. Also, disco leggings. You really need these. I mean it.
Last but not least, a stop in Victoria’s Secret never killed anybody.
I got three undies for $30 and a matching bra, that isn’t padded – which is hard to find there.
Now I just have to worry about how to get it all home.
