In the September issue, we featured an interview with Brooklyn writer Tao Lin about his new novel, Richard Yates, which will be released by Melville House next week.

The book is Lin’s sixth (he’s written two poetry collections, a collection of short stories, a novella, and a novel before this) and it’s one of his most fine-tuned, original works yet.

If you’re not a member of the Rumpus’ brilliant book club (members receive books a month before they’re released), chances are you haven’t had a chance to check out the index yet.

Who cares about an index? Maybe a person who wants to flip straight to the parts about cheese beasts (pages 95-98, 100, 103, 111, 123, 135 and 190), certain facial expressions (concerned: 84, 99 and 187; friendly: 186; neutral: 19, 91, 115, 201), or Whole Foods (9, 27, 37, 58, 62-63, 83, 126, 138, 179-180).
