the best and the brightest
Since 1937, sunglasses company Polaroid has been keeping American shades stylish and retinas safe.
Now they’re paying due homage to the past with the “Best Under the Sun” collection, a re-release of frames that embodied the trends of every decade from the 30’s to the 80’s.
And the best part? They’re giving everyone a chance to make eyewear history.
The brand’s “Best Under the Sun” contest lets you design your own pair of sunglasses inspired by trends from past or future decades (from the 1930’s-2020′s).
If your design gets picked, it will go on sale as part of the “Best Of” Collection (you’ll also get your name in the design’s product description, score royalties on the sale of your frames, and book a trip to Milan in March 2012 for the MIDO optical show).
The contest’s September 30th deadline is fast approaching, so start sketching!
