The new Christopher Kane for J. Brand jeans are finally out.

Now the question is, how do you wear them?

Dree Hemingway makes a good case for pairing the washed-out neon skinnies with something equally unexpected:

A metallic top.

She keeps it from looking too space-age by layering the shiny button-up (also by Christopher Kane) underneath a pale denim jacket; her boots are from Vivienne Westwood but a similar neutral kicker from Aldo or Doc Marten’s would work just fine.  And since this outfit is admittedly a little nutso (in a good way…), Dree’s doing the right thing by keeping her hair and makeup incredibly simple.

If you love the jeans but don’t think you can make it work with metallics, an oversize white oxford shirt or a creamy cableknit sweater would look great, too.
