free music: miracles of modern science

dsDon’t let their name scare you away: Miracles of Modern Science actually has nothing to do with bio or chem class.

Instead this Brooklyn-based quintet (who describes their sound as “Bowie meets Bartok”) makes the type of music that we can listen to all day long, nonstop.

When they first met at Princeton University, the guys set out to create a totally unique type of rock band- one that uses unexpected instruments like violin, cello, and mandolin in order to reel the listener in immediately.

We love it because the bands stings-focused sound gives it a rustic vibe, but their debut album Dog Year would be equally at home blasting from your car windows as it would playing around a campfire.

Plus, they’re total proof that you don’t need flashy guitar riffs or in-your-face percussion to make rock’n'roll.

So get hooked on science and download the premiere of their new single “Luminol” below.
