Alright, so technically, this outfit isn’t Carey Mulligan’s.

It belongs to her character, Daisy Buchanan, in the remake of The Great Gatsby, which – as you all know by now – stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role, and Tobey Maguire (awww) as Nick Carraway.

The dress was designed by production artist Catherine Martin, who also created the costumes for Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet.  (So yes, it was her idea to stick those angel wings on Claire Danes, and for that, we will be forever grateful.)

As for this outfit, it’s dreamy in every possible way -

But the two-tone stockings and high-heeded Mary Janes ground it nicely.

For now, we’ll label this look “Try to find it vintage” -

But that may change as designers start vibing off all the Gatsby press and making their own drop-waist confections.
