Best Dressed: Diane Kruger in Versace
Thanks to Mary Katrantzou and Erdem, dresses with dizzy and color-drenched patterns are suddenly chic again.
Versace goes one step furter, putting Diane Kruger in a dress that’s covered in palm trees, water, hyacinth flowers, and a giant leopard.
Nice.
The look was worn in Paris during Versace’s Etoile de la Mer (“Star of the Sea”) sunglasses launch, and it works because her hair and makeup are incredibly simple -
Diane doesn’t even have a colored lipstick!
And despite the elaborate scene on the dress, it’s actually cut very simply and fits her perfectly – important factors when trying to pull off one of these psychedelic ensembles.
As for the wallpaper, we know some of you will disagree, but we think posing in front of it makes Diane look like she’s starring in an LSD version of Garden State. (And that’s something we’d really like to see.)

Love crazy prints, this one is perfect. Like you said, the simple cut lets the pattern be rather than it get distorted by fussy detailing. She wears it perfectly, like a bit of art.

Great dress – It reminds me of the images shown in artist David Mach’s recent precious light exhibition.
