Dakota Fanning shows a key rule for a kooky piece of clothing:

When wearing a baby blue metallic cocktail dress like Marc Jacobs’ gorgeous piece at left, keep your hair and makeup and shoes incredibly simple.

Keep your clutch the same color as your outfit.

Keep your kitten heels the same precious metal (in this case, silver) as the sheath embroidery.

And – maybe most important – stand up straight!

Dakota, we’re in love with this dress.

And… you know… everything.
