dsIt’s about time.

Can you believe that the author, who’sĀ responsibleĀ for childhood-shaping books like Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret and Forever…. has never had a Hollywood adaptation of her works? (then again, that might be a good thing…).

But now we hear that her 1981 drama Tiger Eyes is the first to get the big screen treatment.

Starring Willa Holland (otherwise known as Marissa’s younger sis Kaitlin Cooper on The O.C.) as the protagonist Davey, the screenplay was written by Blume and her son, Lawrence.

The movie will hit theaters later this year, but if you suddenly feel the urge to indulge in some pre-teen nostalgia and reread the book?

We definitely don’t blame you.
