Best Dressed: Ashley Madekwe in Valentino and Madewell
Dear Ashley,
We get it, you have amazing style.
But is it really fair to upstage the rest of the red carpet wherever you go?
Did you really feel okay annihilating everyone else at the Valentino party with this sweet little colorblock dress, the lace couture cardigan, a pair of gray heels, and the ultimate Mulberry leopard-print bag?!
Was it necessary to paint your toes a neon peach, just to make sure everyone knew how freaking stylish you were, down to the very last detail?
And what’s with the little wrinkles on your hem, which assure fans you’re not totally perfect and occasionally crash on the couch for an hour to watch Top Model?!
Seriously… MUST YOU BE SO PERFECT?!
Just checking…
xoxo NYLON

No offense to her (or you girls for blowing her amazing “red carpet” ensemble out of proportion) BUT after spending some time working in Europe (as a lowly Au Pair no less), I have to say that what she’s wearing here looks more like something a wealthy woman here would wear out to dinner or drinks with friends and not so much on the red carpet. It’s definitely a cute look but a bit too casual for what I would consider a red carpet look.
AND, while I love all of the pieces individually (especially that purse!) I think that either the cardigan or the purse should have been replaced with a more toned down version because I find that they clash; the purse is very modern, cool, spunky while the cardigan is much more classic.

I disagree with you about the red carpet. I actually think the look is VERY appropriate for the event. It’s the opening of a shop not the Oscars so no need to go all out- If she overdressed she’d look look she was trying too hard. It’s fresher and youthful to keep it cute and casual. She looks effortless!
Personally I love the unexpected clash of the leopard.

I love Ashley and her blog and think it’s amazing that my favourite magazine is giving her the recognition she deserves!

honey, loose the cardigan and you would look 1000 times better!
I know Lace is like so in right now, and you probably wanna wear it everywhere…but it just doesn’t go with this outfit…
