Good Idea or Bad Idea: The Social Media Shoe?

Has the social media craze gotten so crazy that it’s now inspiring footwear? The answer is yes, yes it has, but at least shoes are a little more useful than a Facebook shower curtain.

Social Media Shoes are classic Keds that have been combined with everyone’s favorite websites, and we have to admit that Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Flickr really do make eye-catching sneaker designs (the polka dots on the Flickr pair are pretty trendy).

The mastermind behind these contemporary kicks is Lumen Bigott, a 22-year-old graphic designer from Venezuela.

But don’t get too excited (or relieved) because the shoes are only a design concept (for now).

If you could purchase these Internet-inspired sneakers, would you pick one based on your favorite website, or the ones you think are most attractive?

We think the Twitter pair would be cute for spring (and, um, we’re obsessed with Twitter) – but we’re not sure if they’ll ever actually get made.
