We spend a little more time than we should say out loud hoping for new angst-pop from Ashlee Simpson (or at least an Ashlee Simpson Show revival).

We’re not sure what she’s been up to professionally since her turn on the short-lived CW Melrose Place, but we do know she’s all grown up with one super-cute kid, a newborn niece and was spotted hanging with the ever-awesome Linda Perry for “An Evening with Women” benefit at L.A.’s Gay & Lesbian Center (twitpic proof here).

While we’re crossing our fingers for a Perry/Ashlee musical collab, for now we’ll focus on her thoroughly mod look for at event. She kept it Twiggy on top with her blonde pixie and 60′s-style crochet mini, and trendy on the bottom with strappy Caovilla pumps and an ivory studded clutch.

This crochet dress from ASOS is only $78, just as fun as Ashlee’s and could go from day at the flea market to a girl’s night.

Now we’re going to go pop on “Pieces of Me” and remember a time before Ashlee rocked red carpets as was just learning to do her laundry.
