Actress Krysten Ritter has been around the Hollywood scene for a long time, which means she’s gotten to wear some very cool costumes.  (Remember when she was going to play a teenage Lily Van Der Woodsen’s best friend in the Gossip Girl prequel?  That was kind of classic.)

Now Ritter demonstrates her style knowledge with this floral Dolce & Gabbana halter.

Ritter follows a cardinal but often ignored rule for these kind of dresses:

If you want to reveal a lot of skin on top, you should keep the length demure below.

Ritter does it beautifully with a pop of cleavage (almost literally; her top button is bursting!) and a knee-length hem.

The neutral Aldo wedges draw attention to the dress and look pretty comfortable for a pair of heels.

And speaking of those Aldo shoes, here’s another rule Ritter demonstrates well:

If your dress is incredibly expensive, it’s nice to pair it with something affordable.
