Vans x Krochet Kids
Your usual excuse for buying a new pair of Vans? You need sneakers to go with your summer skater dresses or a blank canvas to doodle on.
But now we’re giving you a charitable cause.
Krochet Kids is a non-profit that aims to empowers people to rise above poverty.
They’re teaming up with Vans to bring colorful spools of yarn to Uganda where they’re helping groups of women learn to crochet.
So what does that mean for you? Super cute slip-ons that look really cool foot cozies on the outside, and will give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Each unique pair comes with a tag that’s hand-signed by the woman who stitched them. You can look up her up online, read her bio and learn more about her family and how you can help.
Right now you’ve got a choice of two styles. The Bixie comes striped with pale blue, lavender and citrus hues or embellished with a tiny flower in germanium.
The Vans are $60 at Nordstrom – but before you go ahead and add them to your cart, we suggest you watch this short video about the collaboration, so you know your pretty new slippers are worth every pretty penny.
