PSA: The Peplum’s Still Here

If you’re starting to explore back-to-Fall outfits, you might be wondering if peplums are still happening.
The answer is, “Well, yeah.”
In fact, not only are peplums still staples of high end collections like Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, they’ve also moved onto fast fashion chains.
Check out the red peplum dress at left, which is part of Mango’s Fall 2012 collection.
It’s sharp, it’s affordable, it’s great with a pair of black or beige or even blue or pink stilettos -
And if you’re nervous about going strapless, you can slide a white t-shirt or a black cap-sleeve leotard underneath it for a different kind of look.
Kate Moss will be modeling Mango’s Fall collection in their campaign, but this dress would look great on most women, even if they don’t look like Mrs. Jamie Hince.

The tip is to invest in monochromatic looks. Draws attention as volume per se. If you want to highlight the frill of the peplum, the ideal is that the other parts look to be more discreet.
