Music Video: The Joy Formidable
“This is the most beautiful music video ever,” is how NYLON’s executive editor Luke Crisell described this new music video from Joy Formidable, and it’s hard to argue with him.
The black-and-white video for “Wolf’s Law,” the first song released from their upcoming album of the same name (it won’t be out until 2013), follows moments in life both large and small. Director Cat Botibol captures sleeping owls, lulling waves, and an earth within an eye (no, really) as the song builds up into a goosebump-inducing crescendo. According Botibol, “The band really wanted the film to translate the idea of a re-awakening and rebirth. We worked together to select a series of stills and moving imagery that showed the real and the truth of nature.”
Heavy–but moving–stuff.
