5 Seconds With…Tabitha Simmons
I kicked off my shoes so I could try on Tabitha Simmons’ shoes (a lot of pairs of Tabitha Simmons’ shoes) at her fall ’12 collection launch.
Every time I look at a pair of Tabitha Simmons’ shoes I think, “wow, that’s a shoe!” And when I met Tabitha I thought, “wow, that’s a stylish Brit!” She had just come from styling the Tory Burch spring ’13 show, but was nice enough to walk us through the shoe floor and describe the details of her latest pairs. “Some of the prints were based around the kings and queens of London. I always try to take English inspirations. We also used a lot of mens tie silks in the fall collection. One of our new shapes is the flat point. I had seen so many ballerina flats and wanted to make an alternative. It’s taken a long time, but that style is coming back.”
