Snapped: Andy Warhol’s Medicine Cabinet

Before Emily Weiss began raiding people’s medicine cabinets for her blog “Into The Gloss,” artist David Gamble snapped a shot of the ultimate medicine cabinet: Andy Warhol’s.
Gamble’s print of a photograph that he took of Andy Warhol’s medicine cabinet in 1987…is surprisingly legal. It might be short on whatever was fueling his factory, but he had just the type of stuff that us beauty junkies go for: An old Cetaphil bottle (our go-to and a NYLON Beauty Hit List winner!), a bottle of Halston (which is obviously the fragrance inspired Will Ferrell to spray on gratuitous amounts of “Sex Panther”during the movie Anchorman), and I wonder what he was doing with that bottle of Neet hair removal?
Probably because I’m mostly motivated by nostalgia, but this shot makes me wish that I had hung onto to some vintage packaging. Or better yet—I should just photograph the ones I have now, so that I can check back in 20 years.
I hate to brag, but my medicine cabinet is way fancier than Andy’s. Tell me what’s inside yours.—RAY SIEGEL
