The Face: DSquared Spring ’13

It’s no surprise that models are often cited as beauty inspiration backstage at shows.
(The description “off-duty model hair” should be in the dictionary, it’s referenced that often.)
Kate Moss is a big one; so are “Gisele waves” or “Twiggy eyes.” But the model whose look was the basis for the makeup at DSquared’s spring ’13 show was a bit of a surprise (in a good way).
Linda Evangelista. Yes, the hair chameleon, the won’t-get-out-of-bed-for-under-$10,000 model, inspired the smokey eyes and bold brows.
“Linda in the ’90s–supermodel strong,” is how makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury put it.
If you like the look too, here are three easy steps to get it:
1) Add MAC Pro Sculpt Sculpting Powder along the cheekbones to give your face some serious shape.
2) Smudge MAC Pro Black Black Chromagraphic Pencil on both the top and bottom lash-line, and then use the shadows in the MAC x Carine Roitfeld compact across the lid and crease to add some drama.
3) Shade in eyebrows to get a super strong brow.
