When A Turban Becomes a Turband

Yes we still love turbans–they are the ultimate bad hair day tool. But we also are ready for them to evolve a bit, which may be why we’re excited about the Crybaby Presents x Cult Gaia collab.
See, it’s a turban–but not.
The Los Angeles-based duo Crybaby Presents–who we featured in our October issue and whose spring ’13 lookbook we premiered today–teamed up with the headwear accessories label on what they’re calling a turband (think headband x turban = turband). It’s that bright red plaid, lifted from their holiday collection, that goes well with just about all of our fall favorites.
“It just makes your outfit really streamlined and put-together,” explains Crybaby’s Lisa Ziven. “The other thing that I think is amazing about [Cult Gaia's] turbands is that it spices up your outfit–today I’m actually wearing one! I just didin’t feel that put-together when I left my house, so I just put it on and it makes you feel really beautiful and it makes you feel a little different.”
Beautiful and different: two things we’re more than happy to be.
If you like them as much as we do, stop by their showroom this Saturday for a launch party for drinks, deals, and the new turbands! –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
