Mary Kate and the rest of the fashion set have long been known for their over-caffeinated ways, but Rodarte designing for Starbucks has us scratching our heads.
But then again…fashion designers do pull long hours. And we know too well that all any fashion week day needs is an iced “trenta” with a double shot. (Yes, Starbucks now offers drinks in Trenta sizes. Yes, they’re larger than a Venti).
If Mary Kate is double fisting it, and Kiera Knightley is curling up in the American Airlines business lounge with it, and Rodarte lends their graphic print work to it—then we’ll just have to go ahead and say it: Starbucks is the trendiest mass coffee chain in America.
America may run on Dunkin, but the fashion industry only carries green Starbucks logos—which by the way, is a mermaid. So spring 2012.—RAY SIEGEL
