Cheat Sheet: Lana Del Rey’s “Ride” Hair

Another week, another round of Lana Del Rey news.
This time it’s for her latest video (really, a mini-movie, as NYLON Guys puts it–head over there to watch Lana Del Rey’s Ride in all of its 10-minute glory). We could talk about the beautiful shots of the singer riding a motorcycle or swinging on a rope swing in the desert–courtesy of director David Mandler–but really what caught our eye was her hair.

Because a) it’s the first promotional stuff she’s done featuring her new, mahogany tresses, and b) she’s traded the bouffant for ’90s-style ringlets.

You’ll have to take a photo from the video to your stylist if you want a similar shade, but getting her curls is easy enough. Here’s our three-step method:
1) Wash hair and then, once you’re out of the shower, give it a deep side part. Squeeze out a quarter-size dollop of Ouidad’s Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel (the best styling product for curls, hands down) and run it through your hair with your fingers.
2) Flip your head over and, with a diffuser attached to your blow dryer (we’re partial to HairArt’s Ionic Diffuser), scrunch it up, Yes, we said scrunch. If you have stick-straight hair, you’ll want to use a curling iron instead.
3) Once your hair is dry, rub a dime-size portion of Biosilk Silk Therapy Serum in your hands and run them from scalp to tip. And then behold your big, bouncy, Lana-worthy curls. –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
