Skulls have been around so long that it’s like, unless you’re riding around on a Harley and chewing Skoal (or, alternately, you spent the summer working as a Somali pirate), you’re not fooling anyone.

So my new thing is to now just go for the girly-skulls instead of the gritty-skulls. Like these delicate rings from Jules Smith I saw at the jewelry line’s spring ’13 preview: Instead of some thick setting, the skulls are on a delicate band and totally wouldn’t clash with your standby vintage floral dress.

You’ll have to wait until next year to make them yours, but in the meantime this skull bracelet from Jules Smith should do the trick. –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
