Today’s Best Dressed award goes to Anna Kendrick, for her monochrome beige ensemble at Monday night’s Casting Society of America’s 2012 Artios Awards.

While wearing neutral hues is a foolproof route for nail polish, beige-tones tend to be much trickier on clothing. This is particularly true for someone who is young (like Ms. Kendrick), as ecru-like colors have the propensity to drown out skin tone, and age the face in general.

But this is definitely not the case with the Pitch Perfect actress, seeing as she looks young, fresh, and totally aglow.

How did she pull this off? Well, by pairing her chalk-colored dress with accessories a few tones darker, she allows the dress to “pop,” rather than just blend in. Clever tip, Anna! We’ll take it! — ALI HOFFMAN
