Beauty Queen: Taylor Swift

Needless to say, Taylor Swift’s porcelain doll-esque makeup she wore to the Country Music Awards is worth dissecting. Plus there’s no better Beauty Queen than Ms. Swift to help us kick off all things America in honor of our annual issue that’s on stands now.
We’ve got three ways to copy her look.
WAVE IT: Sally Hershberger Wave Spray, $12.99
Always do your hair first, so your makeup doesn’t melt off. Spray your damp hair with wave spray and blow it dry using your fingers. Then divide your hair into sections and curl with a medium iron. Pull on the curls to loosen them and finish it off with more spray.
MATTIFY IT: Make Up Forever Mat Velvet Foundation, $36
Apply with a wedge-shaped sponge to completely even out your skin tone and give you a powdery finish.
MATTIFY IT (Again): NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red, $6
This time with a red lipstick to get that bold, painted on look without even a hint of gloss.—RAY SIEGEL
