The best part about not being twelve years-old anymore is not having to plead with my mom to buy me the newest pair of Dr. Martens. I had Mary Janes, a saddle shoe style, and black patent leather lace-ups which were risqué at the time, but have recently made it back into the rotation. If floral velvet ones were an option back then, mom would have had to listen to some serious begging. But I’m all grown up and won’t be taking off my new Docs (with print pants to match) all winter.
