When it comes to nominating Best Dressed, we tend to prefer outfits that inspire us to mix it up with our own wardrobe (i.e. a clash of style, a mix of patterns, a new approach to monochrome, etc).

But this is not the case with today’s Best Dressed.

Spotted yesterday at an event in L.A., Rachel Bilson isn’t wearing an outfit particularly unique or daring.

But she is wearing a really great dress by A.L.C., which just happens to be currently on sale at shopbop.com….

We love the the way the dark maroon pattern looks airy and light on the silk. We love the badass patent leather boots peeking out underneath the dress. And we love the extra touch of femme in Bilson’s berry-pink lip gloss. — ALI HOFFMAN
