ANTM AXED: Leila

After a season chock-full of surprising twists, we definitely went into Friday’s season finale of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19 College Edition with high expectations.
And even though some of us disagreed with the final outcome, the show’s drama-filled conclusion kept us on the edge of the couch, and groaning each time a commercial interrupted.
But of all the twists, the biggest shocker for us was definitely Leila being the first of the bottom there to go. So for the second time this season, we gave the comeback girl a call to see how she’s doing post-ANTM.
What was it like to watch the finale episode on Friday?
“It was hard. I got a little teary-eyed. I was with a group of people who were expecting me to win, so that was frustrating. Fridays are never a good day for me though. Everybody’s asking about me about it, and it just amps me up and it’s easier when I don’t have to talk about it.”
What was your first thought after you tripped on the runway?
I honestly don’t even know what i was thinking, but it really did hurt a lot. i cant beat myself up over that though. But in the moment, I knew it would be hard to recover from that and I would probably not win.
How did it feel to win the comeback challenge and return to the show?
“It was really exciting for me, but at the same time it bothered me how the girls acted when I came back. I earned my spot back. Honestly, I personally didn’t feel like I should have been eliminated in the first place.
Kiara was excited to see me come back though. I think she just had more confidence than other girls, so she was able to see me as more than just a threat.”
Was being on a reality show what you expected it to be like?
“It definitely was nothing like I expected. I didn’t really think about it as a reality show until I got there. I’m not an actress. I want to model–that’s whats important to me.”
