When we first heard Local Natives‘ “Breakers,” off of their sophomore album Hummingbird (out January 29–mark ya calendar), we were immediately into it.

Yes, that was me who called it “both hazy and grand (and in the best ways possible)” in our Good Listener from a few weeks ago.

Now they’ve released the music video for the single, and our opinion has definitely not changed. It’s still hazy and grand, but now it’s also paired with beguiling images (it took us a few seconds to figure out what some of those close-up shots were) and a creepy storyline featuring masked bodies and David Lynch-esque film reversal.
