We didn’t know what a Jamagel was either, but when some mysterious Jamagel memorabilia landed on our desks we decided it was worth looking into.

As usual, we were right. According to their site’s product description, “Jamagels are cooked in boiling water before they’re baked along with spice and fruits from Jamaican. Now that’s a Jamagel Smile.” That actually cleared things up a lot because we were thinking that it was the bagel toppings that made them Jamaican. Either way, we support this cross-cultural phenomenon. It’s the most progressive food movement since the black and white cookie.—RAY SIEGEL
