If you were to imagine any band covering Azealia Banks, an Italian psych-pop band might not be the first to come to mind. (It probably wouldn’t be fifth or sixth, either.)

But that’s what we have from Dumbo Gets Mad, who in the lead-up to their sophomore album release in early February are putting out “Tahiti Hungry Jungle.” They’re calling it a “badass re-imagination of Azealia Banks’ summer hit ‘Liquorice,’” which is another way of saying it’s not quite a straight-up cover.

But that doesn’t mean it’s not good in its own right. In fact, after all the Azealia-Angel feuding from this past week, we’re kind of excited for something that isn’t a total diss track.  –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
