David Bowie Is Back!

OK, so David Bowie may never have left us–anyone who has seen The Perks of Being a Wallflower probably has been playing “Heroes” on repeat this fall–but the news that he’s back and releasing his first new album in 10 years is pretty exciting.
The album’s called The Next Day and is schedule to come out March 8 (and yes, you can already start pre-ordering it on iTunes). If that’s too long to wait, today marks the release of the first single, “Where Are We Now?” and an accompanying music video (which you can watch here). Our favorite thing about this Tony Oursler-directed video aren’t the references to the Thin White Duke’s time in Berlin, but rather the fact that it’s basically a karaoke video, with lyrics scrolling across the screen.
Which means that you can replace karaoke go-tos like “Let’s Dance” with a whole new track. That is, if you’re into the song–where do you think “Where Are We Now?” falls in the Bowie canon? –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS

Wasn’t sure at first but after a couple listens, I like it. The lyrics are good too.
