I’ve never been to Australia, but I imagine everything there is ultra-vivid in color but also bathed in that sun-dappled haze–because so much music coming out of the country is sparkling psychedelic pop.
See: Tame Imapala’s Lonerism, and now Alpine’s A Is For Alpine. The six-piece from Down Under (Melbourne, to be exact), are putting out their debut album on May 21, and it’s filled with tracks that will have you feeling like you’re walking on sunshine–even if the lyrics are about just how hard it is to be a twenty-something.
So does this make Alpine the Girls of music (that is, honest but entertaining at the same time)? Listen to their new song, “Gasoline,” below and let us know if you agree. –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
