Yes, we love our new up-and-coming designers. But it’s nice to also have those standbys who you know are going to put out a collection that just nails you and your dressing vibe at the moment.
Like Karen Walker: We can’t think of a season when the Kiwi hasn’t had us muttering to ourselves, “I want it all.” She’s a pro at somehow making quirky, girly, and tomboy work all at the same time (which is probably the ultimate design trifecta).
If we could, we’d buy out her collection every year. But cost has always prevented us from doing that–until now.
The designer is the latest to be tapped for Anthropologie’s Made In Kind series, carrying 10 pieces of her Karen Walker Runaway collection, with the dresses, blouses, skirts, and tees ranging from $98 to $298.
They’re all inspired by “Victorian seaside holidays in the Antipodes” which you can totally see from the octopus prints, paisley sea creature patterns, and navy-red-cream colors.
And like all things Karen Walker, it’s perfect. The collection hits stores this month (and you can shop it here), but here are the five pieces I’m particularly keen on. And for once, I can actually be OK with getting it all. –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
