Best Dressed: Anne Hathaway
Throughout awards season, there have been the usual suspects landing on our Best Dressed lists, show after show; Amanda, Jennifer, Marion. But one person who has been notably absent? Anne Hathaway. It’s nothing personal against the Les Miserables star–as the saying goes, we’re just not that into your red carpet looks.
And then the BAFTAs happened this weekend, and not only is it the best we’ve seen the actress look in a while but it is hands down one of our favorite looks from the entire night. Hathaway’s Burberry gown is what we’re dubbing easygoing formal–it’s flattering, it’s fitting for the event, but it’s also really fresh. Like, Art Deco-meets-punk fresh. Which, when you’re going up against a pink-haired Helen Mirren is quite a tall task.
The key here is all in the studs; it’s like a Goldilocks approach where there’s not too much, not too little, but a just right amount of shine. It’s a lesson that, with the recent profusion of metal detailing, we’d all do well to take heed. Here’s how to find something just right for yourself:
