Best Dressed: Vanessa Hudgens in Opening Ceremony
Fact: It’s pretty hard to look cool at a Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony presentation. For one thing, you’re up against street-cast models with blue hair. You’re also facing the likes of Kim Gordon and Lissy Trullie, who performed at the fall ’13 presentation. And then of course there’s Sevigny herself, the ultimate It Girl who, even when she’s holding a “Time To Have Sex” placard, sets the cool bar pretty high.
And yet, there was Vanessa Hudgens, the Disney princess-turned Spring Breakers bad girl, looking like she came straight from some amazing mod party that we were not invited to. From the dress–Opening Ceremony pre-fall ’13, which means you’ll have to wait a few months until you can get your hands on it–to the accessories (we’re calling those Mary-Janes on crack) to the makeup, everything just works. It’s a lot, but not too much. And perhaps most importantly: Hudgens looks cool without coming off like she’s trying too hard.
