JOJO vs. JOJO

Yesterday we broke the news that JoJo is back. At the ripe age of 13, she gave us the gift of songs like “Leave” and “Too Little Too Late,” not to mention her videos that all took place on high school grounds. Jojo took to the video set in a full face of early ’90s makeup–in case you forgot or weren’t around for it, the staples included lipgloss, lipliner, and eye makeup was never not of the shimmer variety–to create the kind of scenes that teenage hearts could identify with. She sat angstily against her locker in an empty hallway, she watched the football team practice from a far, and she rolled her eyes at her boyfriend in the car, probably because he promised her that he would treat her right and he didn’t. Or like most guys in our experience, he was too little too late. Looking back, it was all very advanced for her age.

We’ve been watching both videos on loop and want to know which is your favorite. It’s a tough call: Too Little Too Late“ has a spontaneous rain scene, but Leave (Get Out) has enough literal dance moves to watch the video on mute and still know exactly what’s going on. Help us celebrate JoJo’s return by casting your vote for her best video in the comments section.—RAY SIEGEL

I gotta go with Leave (Get Out). This was the song that made me a fan. I remember freaking out in jr high when I learned she was my age. My friends and I used to sing it all the time even though none of us had boyfriends! Plus, that “Boys Stink” tank top is classic…

love her black tank though 'in too little too late'.. Nylon should write a article about her new mixtape she released for free 'agapé'. Incredibly Strong.

This is something I wrote with Asa, I play violin. Deffo has some mojojo fire.
