Editor’s Pick: Mind The Gap
We all have pet-peeves when it comes to jeans. Mine? That little gap you get between the waistband and your back. I’ve gone so far as to only wear jeans on days when I know I’m not going to be sitting a lot just so I don’t stretch my favorite skinnies out–which, as an editor, is difficult since I spend most of my time in front of a computer.
So when I heard about G-Star’s new Contour Fit jeans–which has a long back rise to fit hourglass shapes and a 3D tailored waistband–I had to give them a test drive.
First impressions? The black isn’t your average dark denim–it’s got this cool matte finish to them. They’re also ultra-skinny, which I’m a big fan of. (My favorite jeans are always the ones that I have to sit down to peel off. I’m weird like that.)
Then I put them to the test: squats, lunges, hours hunched at my desk–you name it, I did it. At the end of the night, I checked the back and…no gap. Not even a little bit of space. Yes, denim holy grail.
They go for $170 each, which might be a bit of investment but considering all the time and money I spend obsessively washing/drying my jeans in an effort to re-shrink them, I’d say it’s well worth it. Pick up a pair for yourself here and never worry about minding the gap again. –REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
